NEW YORK, N.Y. - Al Horford, Paul Millsap and Jeff Teague were picked Thursday as reserves for the Eastern Conference All-Star team, giving the sizzling Atlanta Hawks three selections.Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook made the West team despite early season injuries for the Oklahoma City stars. The Miami Heat also had two reserves in Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade. But Portland surprisingly only had one in LaMarcus Aldridge. Point guard Damian Lillard was not among the seven reserves.Atlanta has won 17 in a row and has a 38-8 record, second-best in the NBA. The Hawks were hoping for four spots, but Kyle Korver was not chosen by East coaches. Our whole starting five deserves to be there, Teague said before the results were announced. We have a good ballclub. Were all playing at a really high level right now. And were playing as a team. Thats all you can really ask for.Clevelands Kyrie Irving, last years All-Star game MVP, and first-timer Jimmy Butler of Chicago were the other players announced to the East roster. The rest of the West reserves for the Feb. 15 game at Madison Square Garden in New York are James Harden (Houston), Klay Thompson (Golden State), Tim Duncan (San Antonio) and Chris Paul (Clippers).Head coaches in each conference had to vote for two guards, three frontcourt players and two players regardless of position. They couldnt vote for players on their own teams. The starters were voted by fans and announced last Thursday. LeBron James (Cleveland), Pau Gasol (Chicago), Carmelo Anthony (New York), John Wall (Washington) and Kyle Lowry (Toronto) will start for the East. Stephen Curry (Golden State), Kobe Bryant (Lakers), Anthony Davis (New Orleans), Blake Griffin (Clippers) and Marc Gasol (Memphis) were voted in from the West.Bryant is out for the rest of the season after surgery to repair a torn rotator cuff in his shoulder and his replacement on the roster will be chosen by Commissioner Adam Silver. West coach Steve Kerr of the Warriors will decide who takes Bryants spot in the lineup. With their backcourt of Curry and Thompson, the Warriors have two All-Stars for the first time since Chris Mullin and Tim Hardaway in 1993.Atlantas Mike Budenholzer will lead the East. He will get to coach three of his players, the first trio of Hawks All-Stars since John Drew, Eddie Johnson and Dan Roundfield in 1980.We love for our players to have success and for our players to be appreciated, Budenholzer said. Yeah, theres a sense of pride. They work really hard. They do a lot of things we appreciate. If other people are appreciating them, thats a good thing.Korver, shooting 53 per cent from 3-point range, still might have a chance if Wade isnt able to play in his 11th consecutive All-Star selection. The Heat star is battling a strained right hamstring. The powerful West has many more snubs, including Lillard, whose Trail Blazers are tied for third in the conference and who is averaging 21.8 points.Sacramentos DeMarcus Cousins wasnt picked despite averaging 23.8 points and 12.3 rebounds as perhaps the best big man in the league this season, and neither Memphis nor Dallas had a reserve selected despite their strong play and worthy candidates.Marc Gasol said he thought both Mike Conley and Zach Randolph should have been chosen. Were the second-best team in the West. I feel like us being there, both (should be there) because they are a huge part of what we do, Gasol said. All-Stars should be about winning and telling guys thats how you play. You play well on a winning team, youre supposed to be there.Duncan did make it for a 15th time, joining Shaquille ONeal and Kevin Garnett with the third-most selections behind Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (19) and Bryant (17).Durant will get the chance to improve his 30.6 points per game average in the All-Star game, best all-time. West coaches went with the leagues reigning MVP even though he has missed 25 of the Thunders 46 games and the team is only 23-23, currently out of playoff position.I love Kevin Durant, but he hasnt played enough games, TNTs Charles Barkley said. This isnt a lifetime achievement award. Lillard is having a terrific year.___AP Sports Writer Paul Newberry in Atlanta contributed to this report.___Follow Brian Mahoney on Twitter: http://www.twitter.com/Briancmahoney Marcin Bulka Jersey . "Josh was good, and it was a lot of the same thing," Dodgers manager Don Mattingly said. "Keeping guys off-balanced." Becketts reinvention continued Saturday night in the Dodgers 4-2 win over the San Diego Padres. His lively right arm which once produced one fastball after another has found new life by easing up. "Its a little easier the other way, but its been good," Beckett said. "Im locating my curveball, too. Its not like Im throwing curveballs down the middle. Im back-dooring them to lefties and getting them away to righties and getting them out front." Beckett (5-4) pitched seven strong innings, and Hanley Ramirez drove in two runs. Beckett, in his first start against San Diego this year, allowed four hits and two walks. No Padres reached second base, and San Diego never had more than one runner on base at a time against him. Kenley Jansen pitched a scoreless ninth inning for his 21st save in 24 chances, one night after allowing three runs for the loss. Tyson Ross (6-7) worked seven innings for San Diego. But the story was Beckett working over the Padres hitters. "(Beckett) had that tantalizing curveball all night long, all different counts," Padres manager Bud Black said. "He kept it down in the strike zone and he was throwing it for a called strike right at the knee. He threw enough fastballs to keep us honest." Beckett continued his stellar work against NL West teams, tying a season-high with eight strikeouts and lowering his ERA to 1.40 against divisional foes. "The way I pitch is different," said Beckett, who is 4-1 on the road with a no-hitter and a 1.88 ERA. "I never really felt like I had to give in." Becket had plenty of praise for Dodgers second baseman Dee Gordon, who reached base three times and scored two runs. "Any time he gets on base our chances of scoring go way up," Beckett said. "Hes special over there." Los Angeles, which collapsed in the ninth inning of a loss on Friday nigght, has won six of eight and nine of 12.dddddddddddd Mattingly said it was important to see Jensen return successfully after his meltdown. "That closer has to be able to clean the slate," Mattingly said. "You see them over the years, and guys are going to give up runs. That is just the way it is. "The key is to bounce back, and that has where Kenley has been pretty good. I think he has grown up into this role, to be able to clear the mind and go back out there the next day." Ross delivered a solid effort in his first start since walking seven in a loss at Seattle. He allowed three runs, two earned, and six hits with five strikeouts and one walk. Ross was again done in by the Padres weak offence, which failed to score him a run for the fourth straight outing. In five of Ross last seven starts, the Padres have produced nothing offensively. Beckett kept the Padres baffled with an assortment of offspeed pitches. He improved to 6-2 in nine career starts against him. The Dodgers took a 4-0 edge in the eighth inning on Adrian Gonzalezs run-scoring single. Ramirez put the Dodgers ahead 3-0 in the fifth inning. He lined a single to left to extend his hitting streak to nine games and score Justin Turner. With runners on the corners, Ross retired Yasiel Puig on a grounder to shortstop. The Dodgers broke the scoreless tie in the third on Gordons single, which scored Drew Butera after he opened the inning with a single. Gordon then stole his major league best 39th base and took third on second baseman Jace Petersons error. Matt Kemps sacrifice fly scored Gordon to give the Dodgers had a 2-0 lead. Kemps hitting streak reached nine games when he singled in the sixth. NOTES: Puig was in the starting lineup after leaving Fridays game with a strained left hip muscle. ...
